MINORS OF SAN JUAN BOSCO RECEIVE INSTRUMENT DONATION

April 18, 2024

A VARIETY OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS WILL BE USED TO SET UP A MUSIC WORKSHOP AT THE SAN JUAN BOSCO CARE CENTER IN PIMTENEL. SEVENTEEN MINORS ARE THE BENEFICIARIES OF A DONATION MADE BY THE NORTH AMERICAN FOUNDATION, LAZOS DE AYUDA.

Maritza Castro, the founder of Lazos de Ayuda, has pledged to continue supporting this group of children and adolescents.

Teenagers from the San Juan Bosco Residential Care Center, located in the district of Pimentel, Chiclayo, smiled again amid the ongoing worldwide crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Piano classes at this institution resumed thanks to the assistance provided by Lazos de Ayuda, represented by Peruvian Maritza Castro.

Last weekend, the Chiclayo native residing in the United States of America donated various musical instruments such as guitars, cajones, and other devices to continue implementing the music workshop, where 17 minors with different abilities can develop their talents. This donation contributes to improving the mental health of each child and adolescent, addressing the challenges they have faced since childhood due to living in environments filled with violence.

“We have returned to continue this workshop and have provided instruments, guitars, and melodic cajones so that adolescents can develop their talents and address their anxiety issues because many of these young people come from dysfunctional and violent homes,” said Maritza Castro, who has aimed to contribute to the well-being of the most vulnerable people since founding Helping Bonds 14 years ago, not only in the city of Chiclayo but also in the United States, where she resides.

The piano workshop will be led by Professor Mario Frías. The schedule will be determined by the director of the San Juan Bosco CARE Center, fitting around the activities of the benefiting youth. These classes will be supervised by the organization’s founder herself to ensure that the youth receive the best for their mental health.

It is important to remind the public that this group of young people requires ongoing support from society, as they were marked by the environment of family violence in which they lived during their childhood. Maritza Castro, founder of Lazos de Ayuda, has once again committed to supporting adolescents and young people from the United States who require assistance to improve their mental health.
